Excellent piece as always. I can 100% relate to this highlight. I've become amused by this too and have had to fight the urge not to crack a smile when it happens. They are already confused when they see my last name, and when they see me the shocked looks are priceless. I've always been offended by the "I don't see color" phrase and like you said, unless someone has an impairment, it's impossible. This society set it up that way and children understand this and colorism from toddlerhood. Thank you so much for giving these excellent examples to illustrate this point. Your articles are always the best teachable moments. I hope everyone is paying close attention.
