My ex-husband is from Mexico, which is where my last name comes from. Unfortunately, he did not teach me Spanish, but I learned quite a bit from his brothers and sisters. I can understand it much better than I can speak it! : ) I actually know much more French and right before the pandemic (literally right before, last year in February) I went to Paris for my 50th birthday and was able to use it a bit.
