I want Black people to feel empowered by our past and not how this country would prefer us to see ourselves. I understand Mr. Newton’s view of supremacy but I’d rather us embrace the strength of our ancestors not as a way to preach that we are superior to other races, but to show that we are just as worthy as any other human beings on earth.
