I can honestly understand how you might feel that way as a white person because there isn’t a day in your life that you have to fear anyone simply because of the color of your skin. I sincerely wish it was as easy as simply focusing on something else. But that does Black people no good as long as racism exists. The effects of racism have nothing to do with the mindset of Black people and EVERYTHING to do with the white supremacists who perpetrate it. To suggest that racism is all in our heads negates the entire history of my people.

Again, it’s much more complicated than you suggest and not because of anything Black people haven’t done. You would either need to be more open to seeing another point of view, or live a day in the shoes of a Black man to understand. If you could, you would see why your statement is more fantasy that reality, unfortunately. But I do appreciate you at least engaging in a conversation and allowing me to understand the mindset of white people.
