I could have highlighted this ENTIRE article. And like clockwork, I saw the obligatory "you're the one who's racist" comment and couldn't suppress a giggle at your response.
I think most of us as Black mothers (Black people period) can 100% relate to you stopped at that corner watching those babies cross the street. I can't help myself when it comes to ensuring the safety of Black children in White spaces.
My daughter will always say, "there you go, looking out for other people's children again" and I give her my same response "Yes, there I go and I won't stop and guess what? Neither will you." It's up to US to protect the babies from what that woman would have done had you not of had the heart to stop. I felt every word of this powerful article. Thank you so much for sharing this!!
