I hadn't heard about this and appreciate you for sharing her experience. It's sad and infuriating to hear this and I wish I could say surprising. Thank goodness she wasn't harmed and was able to speak about it. This is the worry we all have and have for our own children and as you so eloquently stated: "Too often, society expects Black people to comply with baseless interrogations and to do so with a smile." I'm not certain what it will take for this country to unlearn their racism and apathetic views towards Black women, but articles such as tis one work to chip away at this madness. THANK YOU.
