I hadn't seen the CNN stories, but I grew up hearing about the US Public Health "experiment" in Tuskegee. My father explained that it wasn't that they were given a vaccine that caused issues, it was that they WEREN'T given a vaccine in hopes they would die so that their autopsies could be studied. It is definitely understandable that Black people would be skeptical about this current vaccine since there was no concern for Black lives in that study. I'm not sure what can really be said to gain the trust of our communities as a whole.
