I have to admit…I had to ask my daughter who Mulatto was (yes, showing my age…lol) but I found she shared the same sentiment that you expressed in this article. This is one of the reasons writers like you who not only write to write to eradicate racism, but to also EDUCATE are so important. If young people read work like yours regularly, we could begin changing the tide for the next generation. It was so disheartening to hear what this wrapper said and did to her friend, and even sadder to know that there wasn’t an instinct to think twice about making such a disparaging comment.
