I'm so sorry you had to experience such ridiculousness, especially during the time of year people are supposed to be kind to others. I've always thought it shameful that people around the world link Christmastime to kindness and always wondered, "what about the REST of the year and what about the racism faced by Black people and people of color daily?"

Your articles always tug at my heart because I can so clearly understand and relate to your sentiment. It's the main reason (even before concerns for COVID) that I chose to do all of my shopping online this year. It's a shame that even a situation as joyous as Christmas shopping can be soured when we do it as Black women.
