Interesting. This may come as a surprise but I have absolutely no desire to debate nor do I expect everyone to agree with my thoughts. That’s the beauty of independent thought. This is my take on being Black in America and my opinion is just that. Just like a-holes, everyone’s got one, right? 😉 And trust me, I have enough knowledge of my history to stand toe to toe with anyone on discussions of race. I’ve been doing that for most of my adult life, unfortunately, because I live in a country where White supremacy rules. And this “reverse racism” that you speak of, which is a tired myth, how exactly has it impeded the elevation, careers, education, and pursuit of happiness of the entire White population in America? People confuse prejudice and bias with racism all the time and it just takes some reading and research to understand the difference.

Thank you for taking the time to pick apart my thoughts. It’s always such a pleasure. Trust me there is no choir to preach to on Medium. Just tons of White men who love to tell me how to be a Black woman, because of course they are the experts in that area, right? Contrary to popular belief writing about racism while living it is hardly a picnic.
