Most Americans haven't read these documents in totality and only speak in general terms because of their lack of knowledge on its complete contents.

Strange that you take issue with the fact that most White Americans are patriotic. That wasn't even a negative statement. There's nothing wrong with love of country. What is wrong is expecting Black Americans to feel the same way when our ancestors were in bondage when it was created.

I never suggested that Americans don't know this fact. What I said is there is no effort to paint these men in a full picture. They are portrayed as super-human demigods, but the reality is that they were just men. I have not taken anything away from their documents, I simply stated the FACT that it was highly hypocritical to profess that all men were created equal while simultaneously owning enslaved humans.

I have read these documents in their entirety and there are plenty of statements therein that show those words were not written for Black Americans. We were considered property at the time, so it is impossible to believe that there were even aspirations for us to be considered on the same level as White people.

In fact, these men had the power to do something about it but instead chose to regard it as a future aspiration. Why not fix it when they had the chance? Simple answer - because slavery was entirely too profitable for them to concede. Greed superseded prioritizing simple human decency and for that, these men will never be heroes of mine and no amount of debate will ever change that.
