Sadly, I can count the number of Black teachers I had throughout grade school and college on two hands. The importance of representation in schools for Black children has been so poorly acknowledged. Seeing teachers that look like you helps a child begin to dream of what is possible for them. Unfortunately, it's been clear that the plan was to thwart our dreams, but my hope going forward (and from people listening to your incredible articles about education) that there will be more fruitful Zoom meetings that produce results for more inclusive system. Thank you so much for bringing attention to this issue.
