So after this long “history” lesson which was not necessary in the slightest because I am already educated and not indoctrinated as you appear to be.

You carelessly mentioned that Indigenous people weren’t considered as suitable slaves so Europeans headed over to African to kidnap and enslave my ancestors.

Stop for one minute with this education that no one, certainly not I, asked for and act like a human being. These are PEOPLE you are taking about. I’m so sick of White people and these history lessons speaking of the enslavement, and YES genocide because no matter how you try to sugarcoat this that is EXACTLY what happened. Recall the Trail of Tears that both Indigenous and African slaves endured. And as you casually mentioned the transatlantic slave trade, which was one of the horrific, savage, and viciously cruel and inhumane acts that colonizers perpetuated against my ancestors, why not watch Henry Louis Gates’ six part documentary about it since you are such a history buff.

Learn about the devastation and dehumanization of African people and how that continues to affect my people TODAY instead of these uncalled for historical comments that anyone can research. White people are all about minimizing the damage, death, and destruction caused by colonization. This process wreaked havoc all over the world which I suspect is why so many White people are running from talking about the TRUTH about this country, it’s origins, and what white supremacists are still doing TODAY.

I used to not even respond to these kinds of comments that do nothing to advance my objective of creating equity in this country and validating the Black experience. But you guys can’t keep getting off so easily. Lording yourselves in every single space and enforcing your will on others is enough. We aren’t going ANYWHERE and the noise will only get louder

Until all of you reckon with what you continue to perpetuate because of your position in this country, you will have problems.

Here’s another tip since you like history so much. Check out Dr. Joy Degruy’s book entitled “Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome” That will be a real eye opener for you.

And if my comments got your blood boiling, I’ll be doing a series on America’s REAL history, the kind that Republicans are fighting to make sure little White kids never learn. You should check it out. I’m sure you’ll have plenty to say.
