Thank you for reading, but I beg to differ that we have advanced. The same atrocies take place, they have just been veiled with false progress. We don't see Black people swinging from trees, but we do see my people murdered by police on a weekly basis. Just a different form of lynching.

We don't see people in shackles as slaves, but we do see Black men incarcerated at rates higher than any other ethnic group for petty crimes who are used for labor during their period of confinement.

As Black women we are no longer tasked with raising White women's children or forced into bearing new generations of enslaved humans at the hands of White enslavers, however our lives still have no value here as that is proved when we go missing and no one bats an eyelash.

America would like for you to believe things have changed, but they have merely shifted with white supremacy taking on a new, less obvious face to some. But to Black Americans, it all looks the same as it is our lives directly that are affected.

History in this country means nothing but it has never been the truth. And like you said, history is under assault because TRUE history is coming to light.
