It's rare that a White person recognizes the benefits of privilege because most think we discuss it to make White people out to be "monsters" when that's not the case. It's just a simple fact that it exists and as you said, it creates a rose tinted glasses scenario making it nearly impossible to see the damage it causes. I appreciate your acknowledgment and understanding of it and hope that you will share this with others in your community. Often this message is better received from one White person to another as opposed to from a Black woman since not all White people are receptive to someone of my ethnicity.
