Thanks for reading. Viewpoints are not wrong. A viewpoint is a person's opinion based on their life experiences. They can differ from someone else's, but they cannot be wrong because that negates someone as a human being.

When Black children and young people are being killed, statistics don't soften the blow. Many people are quick to minimize what is happening to Black people but these arguments don't comfort the mother who has lost her child.

I don't know if you've ever spent time in the Black community or comforted a family who lost their child to police violence, but I will tell you these arguments do absolutely nothing to help.

I do not call myself a POC. I am a Black woman. People of all different ethnic groups have different experiences and we are not a monolith. Anyone who questions that white supremacy is what this country was founded on and continues to be the root issue of every problem regarding race for Black people is lacking a fundamental knowledge of true American history. We can never have an honest conversation about racism if people are so quick to discount it and dismiss it because of fear of how it will make THEM feel. We are dying. That should trump anything else.
