This has to be one of the most interesting articles I’ve ever read. While we definitely have extremely different view points, I am always appreciative of your brilliant writing, wit, and the amazing history lessons you provide. I do know that as a direct descendant of enslaved Africans, I could never find anything even remotely positive about white supremacy or even dream of making an argument about it.
If you can write an article that makes an argument for Hitler and find Jewish people who agree with you, that would certainly be something to see. But having first hand knowledge of how my ancestors arrived in this country through the Translatlantic slave trade, brought to the US for the sole purpose of eternal solitude (and also all future generations), under the iron fist of white supremacy, I can confidently say that yes, some things are just bad, period.
And when it comes to the continued dehumanization of Black people in America under white supremacy, there are zero benefits for anyone here who isn’t white. No amount of intellectualism will ever negate the fact that white supremacy is the most vicious, insidious, and down right ridiculous concept ever manufactured.
It was created not just for economic reasons, but borne out of fear and continues to fester because that fear was passed down through generations. We all know the financial implications of white supremacy but it’s the psychology of it that makes it ALL bad. Great read as always, Penguin.
