This was a very interesting article because I always enjoy learning about life experiences from different people. I applaud you and your husband for putting your happiness and safety (and PEACE) before the bigotry of this country.

Interracial relationships between White women and Black men have always been a hot button issue in America. The history of this country makes it almost impossible for the majority to understand that two people have fallen in love with each other's hearts and not because of a fetish.

I have known many Black men who choose to only date White women and openly disrespect Black women which I find problematic but also understand that the lack of promotion self-love (and the elevation of whiteness) in our communities throughout history is one of the culprits of this behavior. But a Black man who has fallen in love with a woman who just happens to be White is love and should be respected.
