Totality IS possible. Your explanation is not the end all truth- it is your OPINION. There is no reason why documented facts cannot be included in history.
They ARE taught to Black young adults by Black teachers and professors, and some White ones. I learned more about the true history of this country in my college African American studies class than in 12 years of primary school. The attitude can’t be “it’s impossible “ when it comes to telling the full truth about what has already been proven.
The reason I say I understand and you are frustrated is because I won’t allow you to impose your reasons why some history is more relevant than others. It’s that thinking that creates American exceptionalism in the first place.
To your credit you have acknowledged some things, however when you follow up to reiterate that things need to be “relevant “ I am only saying all documented and proven history is relevant and no one has the right to decide what should and shouldn’t be taught or shared. I come from a people who were denied education so instead of being frustrated try to understand how your words would be triggering to a Black person, no matter how you meant them to sound.
Thanks for expressing your viewpoints. I do agree that we are at the end of the road but thanks for your time and willingness to discuss.
