We can just agree to disagree amicably. I am assuming you are a White man (correct me if I am wrong) so it is understandable that you might feel that way.

But the lives of Black people and their vicious and cruel treatment during slavery to present day are proof that those words most certainly weren’t written to apply to ALL humans and still hold no meaning today where our communities are concerned.

Rape and child molestation and cruel and unusual punishment that people wouldn’t inflict upon an animal is intolerable no matter who does it, and no matter how accomplished they are or may have been.

We can just understand that you and I will always see this differently because of who we are and based on our personal experiences in this country. And that’s ok. I’m happy my article has sparked so much discussion.
