Well, I think this is where you and I are on opposite sides of the fence, but this is America so we are all entitled to our opinion, right? Black Lives Matter IS a part of the Black community, so I would think it's kind of difficult to be for one and not the other since we are one in the same. The information being spread about this organization mirrors that of falsehoods that were spread about Martin Luther King, Jr., whom many White people openly despised (hence his assassination), and basically all other organizations since the civil rights movement that were formed for the advancement of Black people. This society fears Black people unifying and realizing that we are capable of doing for ourselves in all aspects of our lives. That is the TRUE definition of being "woke." You are entitled to your feels about BLM of course, as anyone else is, but this hatred of this group whose sole purpose is to empower Black people will never stop this movement. Not by a long shot.

And I must beg to differ of the this country doing more good than evil. It's hard to adapt that thought process as a Black person since the only reason I am here today is because my ancestors were kidnapped, beaten, raped, and sold into permanent enslavement. Had it not been for those incredibly heroic souls who fought for our freedom, we would still be enslaved. The plan was never for us to thrive as a people, the plan was for us to serve White people for our entire existence and that of our future generations. So again, I cannot agree with you on that point but I do understand we are viewing this country from two entirely different lenses. Thanks so much for this good discussion and for taking the time to comment.
